South African tabloid, the Sunday World, reports that Khanyi Mbau owes Bongani Fassie — the producer who gave her a fresh, more hip hop sound — more than R70,000 for each song he produced for her. The paper alleges that once the songs started receiving airplay on a national radio station, Lance Stehr, owner of Ghetto Ruff, contacted the station and asked them to stop playing the songs as Ms Mbau had not paid for them. Stehr is said to have denied this, saying that he was merely asking for Bongani Fassie to get a composer credit on the song. For more on this story log onto the Sunday World website.
